Kameron Brown was joined by Coach Rusty Wright and Dave Monnot III as the trio talked about the Chattanooga Mocs upcoming matchup with Portland State.

CHATTANOOGA---It's game week in the Scenic City so that means press conference Tuesday was the news of the day. The contingent joined Coach Rusty Wright, linebacker Kameron Brown and offensive tackle Dave Monnot III in the Wolford Center team room.
 
Coach Wright started the proceedings noting its two teams with a similar background in 2024. Both lost games to two FBS opponents and then dropped a decision to a ranked conference opponent. Or as both Monnot and Brown shared in their sessions…it's two hungry teams taking Davenport Field at Finley Stadium Saturday night.
 
It was a lively student-athlete session when asked about what they knew about Portland State. The programs have never crossed paths, and the Mocs have just two Big Sky opponents in their past – Boise State (1992) & Weber State (2016 Playoffs).

  • The Mocs have rushed for 9,004 yards in 55 games under Wright, 163.7 yards per game.
  • The 20-career start club is not that exclusive at Chattanooga these days with the number of Mocs spending 5-6 years in the program. OL Dave Monnot III & WR Javin Whatley joined the group in the home opener vs. Mercer. They're two of eight with 20+ career starts: DT Marlon Taylor (28), WR Sam Phillips (27), OL Reid Williams (25), DB Jordan Walker (24), DB Josh Battle (22) & DB Reuben Lowery III (21). Within range during the regular season: TE Jay Gibson (19), DT Quay Wiggles (17), OL Almarion Crim (15), LB Alex Mitchell (14) & QB Chase Artopoeus (13).
  • Linebackers room has the Mocs first two interceptions of the season – Kobe Joseph (at Tennessee) & Kameron Brown (Mercer). Brown's came in his first career start.
  • The junior wide receiver trio of Phillips, Whatley and Chris Domercant are all closing in on an impressive career milestone. Phillips and Whatley's numbers came entirely at Chattanooga. Domercant's total includes 1553 yards & 84 catches in 24 games at Stonehill (2021-23). Each is within 500 yards of 2,000 receiving yards...
    Domercant: 92-1,701
