MOCS OPEN SOCON SLATE WITH ROAD SPLIT
Chattanooga (7-7, 1-1 SoCon) opened its Southern Conference slate with a clean 3-0 sweep on the road at Mercer last Friday before suffering a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat on Saturday at in-state rival ETSU to even its early league record at 1-1. The
Mocs now host UNCG and Wofford to open its home SoCon schedule this weekend.
WIN AT MERCER MARKS HISTORIC ROAD WIN
Chattanooga's 3-0 sweep at Mercer on Friday marked the program's first SoCon-opening victory on the road since 2008. The league-opening road win was also just the fifth of its kind for the program in its history and snapped a six-game skid in such games with its last win coming at Georgia Southern (W, 3-1) in 2008.
PAIR OF MOCS, PAIR OF MILESTONES
Chattanooga senior outside hitter
Sydney Jackwin surpassed 1,000 career points during Friday's win at Mercer before surpassing 900 career kills during Saturday's effort at ETSU. Junior libero
Caiti Barthel joined in on the milestone achievements after surpassing 600 career digs following Friday's match at Mercer. Her 219 digs this season is currently 11 shy of tying her career single-season high (230) set as a rookie in 2023.
VICTORY NUMBER 60
Chattanooga head coach
Julie Torbett Thomas notched her 60th victory at the helm of the
Mocs following Friday's win at Mercer. In her fourth season at
UTC, she currently carries a 60-52 (.536) record while seeing her career total sit at 528-456 (.536) over 32 seasons in the collegiate ranks.
