Volleyball Hits Road to Wofford, UNCG for Important SoCon Matches

The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team aims to break free from a three-way tie for second place with a key weekend on the road.

CHATTANOOGA (October 30, 2025) — The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team will look to keep its position near the top of the Southern Conference table with a pair of crucial league matches on the road this weekend, beginning with a Friday night matchup in Spartanburg, S.C., at Wofford and ending with a Saturday contest at UNCG in Greensboro, N.C.

The Mocs currently sit in a three-way tie with Wofford and Furman at 7-3 for second place within the SoCon standings, holding the current tiebreaker over both following earlier victories.

Mocs Win Streak Halted at Six-Straight
Chattanooga (13-9, 7-3 SoCon) saw its winning streak reach six with a 3-1 win over Mercer last Wednesday before seeing its run halted with a 3-1 loss to SoCon-leading ETSU the following day. The Mocs attacked at a .304 clip, its second-best total in SoCon play this season, in the win over Mercer before posting a .110 mark during its loss to ETSU.

Win Streak Proved to be Historical
Chattanooga's six-match win streak within SoCon regular season play was the longest such streak for the program in a single season since a W9 SoCon streak in 1999. The SoCon regular season W6 streak was the fourth-longest streak in a single season in program history. The Mocs reached a W6 streak (overall) for just the third time since 2015.

Mocs Off to Best SoCon Start Since 2015; Sit in Tie for Second
Chattanooga has won seven of its first 10 SoCon matches to mark its best 10-match start to regular season league play since an 8-2 start to the 2015 season, a season in which UTC claimed the SoCon regular season crown behind a 13-3 record. The Mocs currently sit in a three-way tie for second place with Furman and Wofford.

Jackwin Reaches Pair of 1,000-Mark Milestones
Senior outside Sydney Jackwin recorded her 1,000th career dig during October 18's win at The Citadel. Jackwin followed that milestone with her 1,000th career kill during last Wednesday's win over Mercer. The senior played two seasons at Louisiana Tech (2022 & 2023) before transferring to Chattanooga last season.

Fast Starts Key to Mocs Success
Chattanooga has played to a 10-3 record this season when capturing the first set of the match. The Mocs are 5-1 in SoCon matches this season when grabbing a 1-0 lead while playing to a perfect 6-0 overall mark and 4-0 record in SoCon matches when leading 2-0.
