The Mocs dropped a non-conference match in Birmingham, Ala., at Bartow Arena. After trailing by 14 at the half, the Mocs came on strong in the third and cut the lead to six points three times in the frame led by Abbey Cornelius' 12 of her 20 points. She added six rebounds and three steals. Addie Porter had seven points and five rebounds and Dena Jarrells dished out five assists and added five points.
 
Scouting Chattanooga
Chattanooga is averaging 62.3 points per game, shooting 39.2 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from range. Without a single dominant scorer, the Mocs rely on scoring
multiple contributors. Caia Elisaldez paces the offense with 12.3 points per game and leads the team in assists (4.5 per game). Gianna Corbitt adds 11.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while Kalifa Ford contributes 9.0 points and 3.3 rebounds.

The Blazers (1-2) enter Sunday's contest after an 80-56 win over Alabama A&M. Cali Smallwood leads UAB with a career-high 29 points in their last outing, while Sofia Munoz adds playmaking with eight assists. UAB is averaging 69.0 points per game and shooting 49% from the floor in its most recent win.
 
Series History:
Sunday marks the 38th meeting between Chattanooga and UAB. The Mocs lead the all-time series 20-17, including an 11-6 record at home. The first matchup came in 1980, and the most recent meeting was on Nov. 29, 2021, when UAB earned a 67-52 win in Birmingham.
