Volleyball Travels to Samford Wednesday, Hosts Western Carolina on Friday

The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team enters the final stretch of SoCon regular season play with seeding implications looming large over the next two weeks.

CHATTANOOGA (November 4, 2025) — With two weeks left in the Southern Conference regular season slate, the Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team gears up for the final stretch with a pair of matches this week beginning with a road contest at Samford on Wednesday and a home match against Western Carolina on Friday.

Wednesday's matchup in Birmingham against the Bulldogs is slated for a 7:30 p.m. (ET) start while Friday's home match in Maclellan against the Catamounts is set for 6 p.m. (ET). Wednesday's match can be found LIVE on ESPN+ with live stats while Friday's contest will feature live stats only.

Chattanooga (13-11, 7-5 SoCon) looks to snap a three-match skid after rattling off a historic six-match win streak over its previous matches. The Mocs currently sit in a tie with UNCG for fourth place in the league standings, however, the Spartans hold the tiebreaker after solidifying a regular season sweep last week.

Match Notes
Mocs Look to Snap Three-Match Slide
Chattanooga (13-11, 7-5 SoCon) is currently on a three-match skid following losses to ETSU, Wofford and UNCG over the past two-week stretch. The slide follows the team's historic six-match win streak that proved to be the longest within a SoCon regular season stretch since 1999 (W9).

Mocs Remain in Hunt for Top-Three Finish
Chattanooga enters the week sitting in a two-way tie with UNCG for fourth place at 7-5 within the league, however, the Mocs would claim the No. 5 seed if the season ended today due to the tiebreak scenario with the Spartans. UTC is just one match behind Furman (8-4) and two behind Wofford (9-3) for third and second place, respectively. A top three finish in the standings would mark the first since the team finished third (10-6) in 2016.

Another Week, Another Jackwin Milestone Watch
Just a few matches removed from surpassing the 1,000-career mark in digs and kills, senior outside Sydney Jackwin is closing in on another career milestone. Jackwin enters the week with 99 career service aces while actively leading the SoCon this season with 34, two clear of Mercer's Sammi Bergjans in second.

Mocs SoCon Stat Leaders
Chattanooga currently features a pair of SoCon statistical leaders entering this week's action as Jackwin leads in aces (34) and junior libero Caiti Barthel paces the entire league in total digs (429). Sophomore middle Kynli Kirkendoll ranks fifth in total blocks (88.0) and hitting percentage (.329) while Jackwin and junior setter Ashley Reynolds both sit fourth in kills (320) and total assists (552), respectively.
