RECAP: Wrestlers Turn Focus to Regular Season Finale

Noah Castillo

Noah Castillo led a youthful Chattanooga Mocs squad against 22nd-ranked Indiana Friday night in Maclellan Gym.

Score: #22 Indiana 40, Chattanooga 4
Location: Maclellan Gym; Chattanooga, Tenn. | Att.: 475
Records: Chattanooga (5-10/4-3) | #22 Indiana (8-5)

Quick Recap: The Mocs got off to a strong start with a major decision in the opening match at 157. From there, the ranked run of Hoosiers worked their way through a young Mocs squad. Chattanooga had just four regular starters in the mix tonight with the Southern Conference finale looming on Sunday.

First Thought: "I think I saw a couple guys that went out there and fought tough opponents. Bryce Luna, and CJ Liddie, they fought their guys. Being young freshmen, I think this was a good test to see what a home dual meet feels like against a tough opponent, a Big Ten opponent, to gear them up for next season. It puts that little bit of fire under their butts for the next several months going into next season because they could be the guys stepping in there representing us for the whole year, so I think it gives them valuable lessons about what it is to compete at the division I level." – Coach Kyle Ruschell
