Red-Hot Men’s Basketball Hosts Furman in SoCon Showdown on Saturday

The Chattanooga Mocs men’s basketball team will take the floor against the Paladins on Saturday afternoon following the women’s matchup against WCU as part of a day-long doubleheader in McKenzie Arena.

CHATTANOOGA (February 7, 2025) --- Looking to extend its current four-game winning streak, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team returns to the Roundhouse with a huge Southern Conference showdown against longtime league-foe Furman on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. (approx.) on ESPN+.

Tickets can be purchased HERE in advance or by calling/visiting the McKenzie Arena Box Office at (423) 266-MOCS (6627) during business hours of M-F, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (ET). Saturday's game promotion features Scrappy Birthday festivities and Kids Club activities as well as a BLUE OUT for students.
 
Chattanooga (16-8, 8-3 SoCon) is in the midst of a four-game win streak and have won seven of its last eight. Currently in a two-way tie for second place with UNCG and trailing Samford (9-2) by just a game, the Mocs will look to complete the regular season sweep over Furman (18-6, 6-5 SoCon) after earning a 75-71 win in Greenville back on January 18.

CHATTANOOGA EXTENDS WINNING STREAKS; 79-70 AT WOFFORD
Chattanooga improved to 16-8 and 8-3 in SoCon play following a 79-70 win at Wofford on Wednesday... sixth-straight win over the Terriers.
∙ The Mocs have now won four-straight and seven out of the last eight after starting league play 1-2... five-straight road wins (more below).
UTC outscored Wofford by a wide 21-2 margin in points off turnovers during the win... forced 14 turnovers with 13 coming via steals (92.8%).
Chattanooga (8-3) still sits in a two-way tie for second-place with UNCG (8-3)... trails Samford (9-2) by just one game.
 
FURMAN RECENT RESULTS
Furman (18-6, 6-5 SoCon) survived an overtime scare to Western Carolina on Wednesday before escaping with an 84-75 home victory.
Furman has won three of its last four including a 72-70 home win over current league-leader Samford on January 29.
∙ Eight of Furman's 11 SoCon games have been decided by single digits including a current streak of seven-straight dating back to January 15.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Chattanooga & Furman will meet for the 101st time. UTC is 59-41 in the all-time series... 52-34 in SoCon regular season games.
UTC won the last meeting 75-71 back on January 18 in Greenville... the Mocs & the Paladins have split the last 10 meetings in the series.
Chattanooga is 32-12 all-time at home against Furman.
 
ROAD WARRIORS CONTINUE WINNING WAYS
∙ The Mocs have now won five-straight road games in SoCon play dating back to the streak's start at The Citadel on January 4.
∙ First time with SoCon road winning streaks of five or more in back-to-back seasons since 1991-92 and 1992-93 campaigns.
UTC tied a program record with six-straight in 2023-24... the Mocs are a combined 11-4 in road SoCon games since the start of 2023-24.
 
HONOR HUFF CLIMBING UTC'S ALL-TIME LIST, NAMED POTW
Honor Huff was named the SoCon POTW on Monday after averaging 20.5 PPG on 54.2% FG (52.6%, 10-19 3PT) in wins over WCU and Mercer.
Huff has now connected on 182 3FGM in his UTC career (57 games)... the 182 3FGM ranks 5th all-time in program history.
Huff's 3.19 3FGM per game mark at UTC currently ranks T3 (Kedderic Mays, 2006-07) in program history.
Huff's 2.63 career 3FGM per game (including VMI stint) is currently 10th among all NCAA Division I active players.
