The Breakdown
  • SoCon opener for the Mocs. 27-6 (11-5 away) in opening duals in the league dating back to the first regular season dual schedule in 1993-94.
  • 5-0 against Gardner-Webb in an opener, 3-0 in Boiling Springs (1-0 vs The Citadel).
  • The Mocs are coming off another 4-placer performance at the Southern Scuffle presented by Compound Sportswear. There were two at 125 – Cooper Flynn (3rd) & Ty Tice (8th) – followed by Kamdyn Munro (7th-174) and Landon Jones (6th-184).
  • Flynn leads the team with two ranked wins. Ethan Uhorchuk, CJ Liddie and Jones each have one. Uhorchuk's is the top-ranked triumph over No. 22 Troy Hohman (2-1 dec.) from N.C. State to move on to the blood round at the Scuffle before bowing out to No. 9 Dillon Campbell (Va. Tech).
  • Last year's meeting was a 22-17 comeback win for the Mocs. They trailed 17-3 after the sixth match at 165. Three straight tech falls at 174, 184 and 197 shifted the lead to the good guys, 18-17. The latter came from Munro and Jones who was wrestling two weight classes up in his first season. Ethan Vergara finished it off with a major over Mason Blue.(12-2).
  • Vergara leads the 2025-26 squad with a 5-2 dual record. Jones (14-7) and CJ Liddie (14-8) are the overall wins leaders with Hunter Mason (11), Vergara (10), and Will Anderson (10) also in double digits.
  • Flynn has won six of his last seven. Jones is 9-3 in his last 12 matches.
