Scouting Chattanooga
As mentioned earlier, Chattanooga has won six games in a row, playing its best basketball of the season. Guard
Caia Elisaldez at 14.5 points (3
rd in SoCon) and forward
Gianna Corbitt at 14.3 points per game (5
th in SoCon), are the two go-to players for the Mocs. Elisaldez also has a knack for finding teammates, dishing out a league-high five assists per game while Corbitt has been a menace on the glass, averaging 7.6 per game (2
nd in SoCon). She has collected 29 rebounds in her last two games.
Forward
Frode Flos van der Schans has given the Mocs great minutes off the bench since the start of conference play. She has set new season highs in scoring, with seven points against Wofford, then eight points against Furman. In these two wins she has also knocked down her first two triples of the year and accounted for four rebounds in each game.
As a team, Chattanooga averages 66.2 points per game and leads the SoCon in field goal percentage at 41.8%. That being said, as SoCon play continues, the Mocs will look to maintain their defensive dominance that they have had these last three games.
Scouting ETSU
The Buccaneers, who were preseason picked No. 3 in the SoCon, have lost their first two SoCon games by a combined six points (70-72 vs. Furman) and (57-61 vs. Wofford). In the Wofford game, ETSU led by as many as 15 points before the Terriers came storming back. ETSU won its previous three games leading up to conference play against Gardner Webb, UNC Charlotte, and King.
Guard Anala Nelson leads the way for ETSU offensively, scoring 10.7 points per game, including 23 points vs. UNC Asheville and 22 points against Furman. Forward Meghan Downing is a player for the Buccaneers who can impact the game in multiple ways. She scored 23 points in her last game, despite averaging just 7.4 points per game. However, she is most known for her rebounding ability at 7.6 per game (2

th in the country.
ETSU averages the lowest number of points of any team in the SoCon at 57.3 points per game, however its defense, that allows only 59.9 points per game is what stands out. In a home win against Gardner Webb, ETSU gave up just 37 points.
