Cooper Flynn is this week's Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week. Flynn earned a third-place finish is a power-packed 125 weight class at the Southern Scuffle presented by Compound Sportswear last weekend in the Roundhouse. His was the best of four placing finishes by the Mocs.

Breakdown

• Flynn went 5-1 for the weekend with three ranked wins. Lone loss? Came in the semifinals to No. 3 Eddie Ventresca in an 8-3 decision. Ventresca won the 125 title.
• 125 had nine ranked wrestlers in the field.
• Scored a team-high 10 points. The Mocs scored 67 overall, most since 79 in 2012.
• Out-scored opponents 41-15 with two shutouts including the third-place 1-0 win over Cornell's Greg Diakomihalis who was ranked as high as No. 11 (WrestleStat).
• Had a 21-6 tech fall in the prior round over Navy's Andrew Binni who was ranked #33 (Flo) at the time.
• Surrendered only three takedowns over his six bouts, two to Ventresca. Recorded 10.
• Led four placers for the Mocs. He was joined on the 125 podium by Ty Tice (8th) while the squad was also represented by 174 Kamdyn Munro (7th) and 184 Landon Jones (6th). Each academic class was represented: senior (Flynn), junior (Munro), sophomore (Tice) & freshman (Jones).
