CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Less than 48 hours after securing their fifth win in a row, and first in SoCon play, the Mocs are back in action against Furman on Saturday. Tip-off from McKenzie Arena is scheduled for 2 p.m. in a battle of two teams who each have nine wins on the year.

In the Semifinals of last year's SoCon Tournament, Chattanooga took down Furman 63-55 behind 18 points from
Karsen Murphy and 16 points from
Caia Elisaldez. The win secured Chattanooga's third trip in a row to the Championship game.
Series History
In a series that dates back to 1985, Chattanooga leads the all-time series 63-32… The Mocs are 28-12 on their home court against the Paladins… Chattanooga has won seven out of the last eight games against Furman... Lone Furman win in that stretch came in OT last year in McKenzie Arena.
Homestand Finale
Chattanooga's game against Furman is the fourth and final game of a four-game homestand for the Mocs. In the homestand, Chattanooga has beaten Western Kentucky, Southern Wesleyan, and Wofford. Chattanooga's next three games will all be on the road.

Chattanooga is riding a five-game winning streak. It is the first time the Mocs have done so since 2/29/24-3/10/24, with the final win coming in the SoCon Championship. In the win streak, Chattanooga has moved from a losing record to an impressive 9-5 mark.
Dominating the Glass
Chattanooga has won the rebound battle in each of the last seven games, including a dominant 51-25 advantage in rebounds in its last game against Wofford. 16 of the 51 rebounds came from
Gianna Corbitt. 51 rebounds are the most the Mocs have had in a game since the 2020 season.
Defensive Masterclass
In the 61-42 win over Wofford, the Mocs held the Terriers to just seven points in the second quarter and eight points in the fourth quarter. 42 points was a season-low point total for the Terriers. It's the lowest total a SoCon team has scored against Chattanooga in the
Deandra Schirmer era.

The Mocs are playing their best basketball at the moment, rattling off five wins in a row.
Gianna Corbitt with 14.6 points per game (3

In the last two games,
Kalifa Ford has been a standout player for Chattanooga. She scored 18 points on 100% (5-5) shooting against Southern Wesleyan. She then followed that with 20 points and eight rebounds against Wofford, for her best statistical performance as a Moc. She has pushed her scoring average to 11.1 points per game.
As a team, Chattanooga scores 66.6 points per game while allowing 61.4 points per game for a +5.2 differential. In the five-game winning streak, the Mocs are averaging 75.2 points per game. This includes a 97-point outburst against Southern Wesleyan.
Scouting Furman
The Paladins come to McKenzie Arena winners of three in a row and five out of their last six. In three of those wins, Furman scored over 100 points, all of which came against non-Division I opposition. The lone loss in that stretch is a respectable 66-82 defeat at Florida of the SEC.
Forward Clare Coyle is the star player for Furman, averaging 15.4 points (2
nd in SoCon) and 7.3 (3
rd in SoCon) rebounds per game. She is the defending SoCon Player of the Week after great performances against Brevard and Bob Jones, which included her fifth double-double of the year. Guards Alyssa Ervin and Raina McGowens average 12.6 and 10.1 points per game, giving the Furman two other reliable options offensively.
So far this season, Furman has the leading offense in the SoCon, scoring 73.2 points per game. Additionally, the Paladins lead the league in rebounding at 41.7 per game. Lastly, on the defensive end of the court, Furman is the No. 1 ranked team in the SoCon in steal per game at 12.5.
