Track & Field at Bulldog Invite and Music City Challenge Friday

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's indoor track and field team will split to compete in two meets Friday. The majority will compete at the Samford Bulldog Invite in Birmingham, Ala., while the remaining members will travel to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge.
 
SAMFORD BULLDOG INVITATIONAL, Birmingham, Ala.
Chattanooga opens the day in the 5,000 meters at 11 a.m. with Scarlett Nash and Aubrey Park. The Mocs return in the mile at 1:30 p.m., where Bella King and Ellie von Herrmann race in the first heat. Lauren Bayes, Maya McCloskey, Anna Roberson and Olivia Steele compete in the second heat.
 
Sprinters take the track at 2:05 p.m. in the 400 meters. Ava McGue runs in the first heat, followed by Aalvinee Torrance in the third. Taylor Crawford lines up for the 800 meters at 2:55 p.m.
 
The Mocs return for the 200 meters at 3:15 p.m., with Torrance in heat two; Norah Haney and McGue in heat three; and Kolbee Webb in heat eight. The team closes the track schedule with the 4x400-meter relay at 4:35 p.m. The Chattanooga "A" squad features Webb, Haney, Crawford and McGue.
 
In the field events, Haney opens long jump competition at noon in the first flight, with Stella Henry and McGue in the second. Halle Carden competes in the high jump at 2 p.m. before returning for the triple jump at 3:30 p.m. She was named the SoCon Athlete of the Week after breaking the Mocs record in the high jump last week at the UAB Green & Gold Invite.
 
The Bulldog Invite is part of Samford's indoor home meet lineup, all held at the CrossPlex, one of the premier indoor track venues in the region.

MUSIC CITY CHALLENGE, Nashville, Tenn.
Chattanooga opens competition Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the 60 meters with Ryleigh Simmons in the first heat. The Mocs move to the mile at 6:45 p.m., where Maddie Wheatcroft races in heat one, Audrey Wade in heat seven and Leah Boyd Mitchell in heat nine.
 
The team closes the night in the 5,000 meters at 8:30 p.m. Andrea Ellis lines up in heat three, while Lola Baker and Emma Thweatt compete in heat four. The event traditionally hosts several seeded sections and has produced strong mid‑season distance marks in past years at Vanderbilt's fast indoor oval.
 
The Music City Challenge is one of the premier indoor meets hosted at Vanderbilt, featuring a full slate of field and running events across both days.
 
This weekend closes out the regular season for the Mocs as the team prepares for the Southern Conference Championships at the end of the month in Lexington, Va.
