Corbitt Named Player of the Week
Gianna Corbitt was named SoCon Player of the Week on Tuesday after her sixth double-double of the year against ETSU. The junior forward scored 25 points and collected 13 rebounds. She is just the fourth Moc in program history to win at least four player of the week awards in a single season, joining Jada Guinn (2023-24), Shanara Hollinquest (2008- 09), and Alex Anderson (2007-08 & 2006-07) on that list.

Two-Game Losing Skid
The Mocs are riding a two-game losing skid, falling on the road at Wofford (63-67) and in 2OT at home to ETSU (90-91) by a combined five points. This comes after the Mocs had previously won 12 consecutive games.

Where Things Stand in SoCon
Chattanooga holds an 8-2 SoCon record, sitting alone in first place atop the league standings. Right on its tail are Furman and Wofford, a half-game behind the Mocs at 8-3. UTC has four remaining conference games while Furman and Wofford have three left on their schedule.

Scouting Chattanooga
Elisaldez and Corbitt continue to be a dynamic duo for the Mocs. Elisaldez leads the SoCon in scoring at 15.7 ppg and in assists at 5.3 apg. Corbitt is right behind her at 14.8 ppg (3rd in SoCon) while being amongst the top rebounders in the league at 8.2 rpg (2nd in SoCon).

Ava Card and Izzy McPherson, who each average just over seven points a game, have proven that they can step up when called upon offensively as well. Card scored a career-high 17 points in her last game vs. ETSU and has been in double figures in six games. McPherson has a game this season of 20 points against Samford, which was a career high. She has been in double figures offensively in four SoCon games.

Five of Western Carolina's 11 losses during this run came by single digits, including the game on Jan. 24 vs. UTC. The Catamounts though are still looking for their first win away from the Ramsey Center in Cullowhee this year, as they hold an 0-12 record in road and neutral site games this year.

Ally Hollifield and Taj Hunter, two of Western Carolina's guards are their top scorers this year.
