Late Rally Comes Up Short
The Mocs dropped a road contest at Samford on Thursday night, 77-70. UTC was down as many as 18 points before getting back to within four points with 1:14 remaining. However, Samford made nine free throws in the closing minutes to pick up the win.

Where Things Stand in SoCon
Chattanooga and Wofford are tied at 10-3 in the SoCon standings going into the final game of the regular season. UTC plays at Mercer while Wofford plays at Furman. If both teams win, the two schools will share the title with the Mocs taking the No. 1 seed in the Tournament due to tiebreaker rules. If Chattanooga wins and Wofford loses, the Mocs will be the outright champions. If UTC and Wofford both lose, and ETSU wins, there will be a three-way tie for first place at 10-4. In this scenario, the three schools would share the Regular Season title, and the Mocs would be the No. 1 seed in the tournament due to tiebreaker rules.Â
Scouting Chattanooga
Elisaldez leads the SoCon in scoring with 16.3 ppg and in assists with 5.4 apg. The junior guard has been on a heater lately, averaging 22.8 ppg across her last five games. Corbitt is right behind her, ranking third in the SoCon in both scoring (14.9 ppg) and in rebounding (8.2 rpg). She has two 30-point games this season.Â
Izzy McPherson (16 points) and
Ava Card (10 points) each scored in double figures in Chattanooga's home game against Mercer. These two will look to take some of the heavy lifting off Elisaldez and Corbitt in the Chattanooga offense.

She averages 9.7 ppg for the season.
Offensively, the Bears are right behind the Mocs in points per game in league play at 62 ppg (3rd in SoCon). On the flip side, Mercer is the second worst defensive team in conference play this year, allowing 64 ppg.Â
