Chattanooga leads the SoCon with a 7-0 record while Thursday's opponent, Furman, is right on its tail in second place at 6-1. Furman's lone loss in SoCon play came to the Mocs. In third place at 5-2 is Wofford, whose only losses are to Chattanooga and Furman. The Mocs travel to Spartanburg on Saturday to take on the Terriers.

The Mocs are ranked No. 185 in the NCAA Division I NET Rankings. In the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25, the Mocs are receiving votes, effectively sitting at No. 37. Chattanooga currently ranks tied 11
th for the longest active win streak in the country at 11 games. It's the seventh longest active win streak among mid-major schools.

Across the season and in the 11-game winning streak, the Mocs have been led by the dynamic duo of
Caia Elisaldez, who scores 14.9 ppg (2
nd in SoCon) and dishes out 5.2 apg (1

Gianna Corbitt who averages 13.9 ppg (6
th in SoCon) and 8.1 rpg (2
nd in SoCon). Offensively, both players have scored 20 or more points in five games this year.
As of late,
Izzy McPherson has established herself as an elite scorer for Chattanooga, as she has scored 13 or more points in the last three games, playing in a new starting role. In UTC's last game vs. Samford, McPherson exploded for a career-high 20 points on six made 3-pointers at a rate of 85.7% (6-7). Her six triples tied the McKenzie Arena record for most made in a game by a Chattanooga women's player.
Chattanooga's stout defense was on display again in the win over Samford, allowing just 40 points, which ties the lowest point total a D1 opponent has had against the Mocs this year. In total, it's the seventh time the Mocs have held an opponent below 50 points this season. Offensively, UTC leads the SoCon in FG% at 42% and 3FG% at 32.8%.
Scouting Furman
Holding the second longest winning streak in the league at five games, Furman, is riding high at the moment. In its last game at Wofford, Furman established itself in sole possession of second place in the league, with a 65-54 win at the buzzer. The Paladins are 9-2 on their home court this season, with their lone defeats coming to Campbell and Clemson.
A pair of sophomores in Clare Coyle, who leads the team in scoring with 14.1 ppg (5
th in SoCon) and rebounding at 9.3 rpg (1
st in SoCon), alongside Alyssa Ervin, who averages 13.7 ppg (7
th in SoCon) have been key pieces for the Paladins. Coyle leads the league in double-doubles this season with eight while Ervin has scored 20 or more points in three games. This includes the win over Wofford, where she scored 21 points and had the game-winning lay-in.
As a team, Furman stands out in a few different areas, including scoring 70.4 points per game and rebounding at a a mark of 42 per game, leading the SoCon in both stats. Defensively, Furman excels in steals per game, averaging 11.9, and in blocks, averaging 4.1 a game. The Paladins lead the league in these categories as well.
