2009 • SENIOR SEASON:  Named 2009 Associated Press 3rd Team All-American...earned a spot on the College Sports News Fabulous Fifty Team...selected by the league's media and coaches as the 2009 Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year...first Moc to earn Player of the Year honors from the league's coaches since 1990...first Moc in school history to earn Player of the Year honors from the SoCon media...tied for the national lead with 12.0 sacks on the year...12.0 sacks also tied the UTC single-season school record and was the ninth highest single-season total in SoCon history...career-highs in tackles in each of the first three games (5 vs. GSC, 6 vs. Furman and 7 at Presbyterian) and again at Elon (8) and at Appalachian State (8)...finished fourth on the team with 62 tackles...led the team with four QB hurries...forced and recovered a fumble on the year...SoCon Defensive POW after notching two sacks and a career-high seven tackles at Samford...13.0 career sacks is tied with former Dallas Cowboy defensive end Tony Hill (1987-90) for fourth at UTC.

2008 • JUNIOR SEASON:  Saw action in eight games...made six unassisted and two assisted tackles...had 1.5 tackles-for-loss...forced a fumble against Appalachian State...recorded a sack at Florida State.

Prior to UTC:  Recorded eight quarterback sacks and 40 tackles in 2007 at Georgia Military in Milledgeville, Ga...played linebacker and defensive end...led Bulldogs to 9-2 record in 2007...received GMC's Outstanding Leadership Award...teammate of current Moc Patrick Wilkinson...coached by Bert Williams.

HIGH SCHOOL:  All-state performer at Lincoln County High School...helped Red Devils to a 14-1 record and second-place finish in the state playoffs in 2004...voted team's Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Defensive Player...credited with 172 tackles...team captain...coached by Larry Campbell...also competed in basketball and track and field...also recruited by Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern and Valdosta State.

PERSONAL:  Brother, Jerry, played at Appalachian State from 2000-2002 ... Jerry was an All-Southern Conference running back in 2002.
