HIGH SCHOOL: All-state offensive lineman from Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Ga....played for head coach Hal Lamb...named Georgia Class AA Honorable Mention All-State as a senior...led Calhoun to the Class AA state championship game...three-year starter on the offensive line for the Yellow Jackets, advancing to the state playoffs each year...Chattanooga Times Free Press First-Team North Georgia Best of Preps selection...played tackle his sophomore year and moved over to guard his junior and senior seasons...honor roll student and a two-year letter winner on the academic quiz team.
