Biography

2008: Played in all 12 games with 10 starts ... one touchdown and 70 yards on 19 carries ... scored from one yard out against Georgia Southern ... also had five catches for 41 yards ... bench press of 365 pounds was best among running backs ... Squat lift of 500 pounds tied Ryan Geist for most among the backs.

2007: Played in all 11 games and drew five starts at fullback ... Ran the ball three times for 10 yards and caught four passes for 31 yards ... All three carries came in finale at Appalachian State ... First catch of season was a four-yard touchdown pass at Arkansas ... Also made a 13-yard reception versus Western Kentucky and a five-yarder against Wofford.

2006: Moved from fullback to defensive line prior to the season ... Recorded three tackles on the year with one solo stop and two assists ... Also registered a quarterback sack and a tackle for loss ... Sack came in opening win at Tennessee Tech ... Also collected single tackles at Western Kentucky and against Appalachian State ... Competed in 10 games ... Made Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in Fall semester.

2005: Saw action as a true freshman at fullback and on special teams ... Proved valuable as blocking back and as second fullback in certain situations ... Did not record a carry ... Registered one special teams tackle.

CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: Played linebacker, tight end and fullback ... Recorded 167 tackles during senior year ... Forced seven fumbles ... Recorded two interceptions ... Scored one touchdown ... Credited with 165 tackles during sophomore year ... Earned All-State and All-Region honors as both a senior and a sophomore ... Purple Pounders went 2-8 senior year and 8-4 his junior season ... Advanced to the state playoffs in 2003 before falling to Maryville ... Finished his career as the all-time leading tackler in school history ... Coached at Central by Curt Jones ...Also recruited by Tennessee Tech and Kentucky ... Also participated in basketball and baseball...His junior year was cut short by a knee injury in the sixth game against Chattanooga Tyner Academy.
