CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Lady Mocs closed out it's home slate Sunday afternoon at the North River Soccer Complex with a 2-0 loss to the College of Charleston in Southern Conference action.
The two teams battled it out in the first half and ended the period in a 1-1 tie. However, Megan Manthey poured on the offense scoring both Cougar goals in the second half. At the 53:10 mark of the second period, Manthey picked up a pass from Katie Browne and got past Chattanooga keeper Allie Preston to put CofC up 1-0.
Her second goal came closer to the end of regulation on a pass from Brittany Schneider with 6:14 to play to give Charleston a cushion as time wound down.
The Lady Mocs fall to 5-11-1 overall and 2-6 in league play while College of Charleston improves to 10-4-3 overall and 3-3-2 in conference action.
Chattanooga was without its top offensive threat in D.K. Henry. The Queens Village, N.Y., freshman had to sit out one game after receiving her fifth yellow card of the season in UTC's 2-0 win over The Citadel Friday.
The Lady Mocs closed out the home portion of the schedule and will be on the road for their final three contests beginning with Western Carolina next Friday in Cullowhee, N.C.
