CULLOWHEE, N.C. --- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior
Chloe Arnold scored the game winner shortly after the start of the second half to lead the Mocs to 2-0 win over Western Carolina Friday night in Southern Conference women's soccer action at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

The Mocs improve to 7-3-2 overall and 2-1 in league action while the Catamounts fall to 7-4 on the year and 1-1 against the conference.

Arnold blasted a shot from the just outside the top of the box in the 49
th minute. Senior
Bailey Gale made a move around her defender and passed the ball over off the outside of her right foot to Arnold. She picked up the pass in stride and had one touch on the ball before blasting it into the left side of the net from 20 yards out.

With less than eight minutes remaining in the game, the Mocs added a second goal.

Sophomore
Maggie Shaw dribbled down the left side and after crossing midfield, sent a pass down the field to freshman
Faith Gober. She took the ball into the box and fired it toward the goal where sophomore
Samantha Shaw stretched out to tap it into the net for her third goal of the season.

The teams battled it out in the first half with both defenses holding off any scoring attempts. WCU outshot the Mocs 13-8 with UTC keeper
Ashton Shields making five saves for her fourth win of the season.
