COUNTDOWN: Soccer Fact #13

The COUNTDOWN is on to the 2019 Chattanooga women's soccer season. A different player will be featured each day along with a fact about the soccer program. The Mocs host Austin Peay on Friday, August 23 to start the season.

Transfer Osa Iyare (OH-suh  ee-YAR-ay) transferred this summer to Chattanooga from Memphis where she played the 2017 season with the Tigers. She logged 130 minutes in 10 matches for Memphis and had assists against Temple and East Carolina while taking 10 shots on the year. She was named to the Memphis Dean's List and Tiger 3.0 Club in both the fall and spring semesters.
 
She is from Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Fact #13
Chattanooga has had 18 all-conference selections since 2002. Donna-Kay "DK" Henry is UTC's only four-time All-Conference student-athlete. She was twice named to the first team (2010, 2011) and twice on the second team (2008, 2009). Diana Jallo was named to the league's all-conference team twice (2003, 2004). Elfa Erlingsdottir was named to the first team in 2003 and the second team in 2002.
 
Other first-teamers include Stacey Matthiessen (2006) and Chloe Arnold (2018). On the second team is Dusty Griffy (2002), Brooke Crandall (2003), Meghan Chismark (2004), Nikki Brannen (2005) and Becca Smith (2011). Current senior Jordan Mueller has earned second team honors in 2017 and 2018.
 
The season kicks off Friday, August 23 against Austin Peay at the UTC Sports Complex.
