The season may be postponed, but the Mocs are still on the pitch prepping for the season set to take place in the spring.
Â
For the first time ever, the Mocs will take the field for a spring season. What that season will look like is yet to be seen, but the prep work is still the same.
Â
"Our day-to-day approach never changes," Chattanooga head coach
Gavin McKinney said. "We have an opportunity to shift our focus a little bit and get ourselves ready for the spring SoCon Championship. This is a chance for the group to really grow closer."
Â
McKinney has asked the team to form their own "bubble" of sorts this fall and stay together as a group and watch out for each other's well-being.
Â
"It's great to be back on campus and finally on the pitch with everyone," sophomore forward
Mackenzie Smith said. "Not getting a fall season was a bit of a disappointment at first, but now we can use this time to train and develop to get ready for the spring.
Â
The team reported to campus on August 10. After getting their COVID-19 testing completed, they hit the ground running with conditioning exercises in the first full week. The second has seen the Mocs running drills and small side scrimmages as training has gotten underway.
Â
"Everybody has been working hard and pushing each other," said sophomore defender
AK Anderson. "I'm excited for our first game and the season!"
