CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs soccer team is set to host Georgia State Sunday evening at the UTC Sports Complex in its lone match of the 2020 fall season. The match kicks off at 6:00 p.m. without fans and will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

•  Head coach
Gavin McKinney | Begins his sixth season as the Mocs' head coach ... picked up 100th career victory in 2019 in a weather-shortened (84:45) match that saw three delays.
• 25 SEASON OF MOCS SOCCER | The 2020-21 season marks the 25th for the Mocs who fielded their first team in 1996. UTC has had three head coaches and called four locations home.
• THE LINEUP | The Mocs return 20 letter winners and add six newcomers to the 2020-21 roster. The team has five seniors ... seven juniors ... nine sophomores and five freshmen.
• 2019 POSTSEASON HONORS | The Mocs return
Hollie Massey, All-Conference Second Team,
Mackenzie Smith, All-Freshman and Maggie Smith, All-SoCon Tournament.
• HOME OPENERS | The Mocs are 12-10-1 in home openers and 2-2-1 during McKinney's tenure. In his first match the Mocs went double-overtime against Austin Peay before falling 1-0. The next season saw Kennesaw State come away with the victory, 1-0. McKinney led the Mocs to back-to-back wins over Austin Peay (3-2) and Alabama A&M (3-0) the next two seasons. Last year UTC and the Lady Govs battled to a double overtime 1-1 tie in the first match at the newly constructed UC Sports Complex.
• SECOND SEASON AT HOME | This marks the second season the Mocs soccer team will call the UTC Sports Complex home. The complex, located next to historic Engel Stadium, former home of the Chattanooga Lookouts professional baseball team, houses three soccer fields, a clubhouse and a sand volleyball court that serves as home to the Mocs Beach Volleyball team founded in 2019.

GEORGIA STATE NOTES
The Panthers, as members of the Sun Belt Conference, will play a full slate of conference matches and four non-conference games. Their season begins Friday in Macon, Ga., against SoCon foe Mercer. GSU returns 24 players from a team that advanced to the semifinals of the Sun Belt Tournament a season ago. Leading the pack of returners isÂ
Jimena Cabrero, one of GSU's two All-Sun Belt honorees in 2019.
Jimena Cabrero was named Preseason All-Sun Belt after a stellar freshman campaign in 2019. Cabrero led GSU with six goals with two assists for a total of 14 points. Five of her goals were game-winners, tied for most in the Sun Belt last season. GSU's roster features six international student-athletes; Four from Spain, 1 from Jamaica, 1 from Iceland.Of GSU's 34 student-athletes, 21 are from the Peach State. Maryland has the second most Panthers with two (Kendra Clark,Â
Jaddah Foos). The Panthers finished the 2019 season with a 9-9-2 (5-4-1 Sun Belt) record. GSU overcame a slow start to win four straight matches entering the Sun Belt Tournament. GSU advanced past Coastal Carolina in the first round but fell to top-seed South Alabama 1-0 in the semifinals.
