Birna Johannsdottir was named the Southern Conference women's soccer Player of the Month for October the league office announced today.

Johannsdottir, a midfielder from Iceland, led the Mocs with nine points on four goals and one assist. She took 17 shots with 11 on goal (.657) and scored the game winner against VMI. She scored the Mocs second goal in a 2-0 win over Wofford on a penalty kick.

Johannsdottir scored both goals in the Mocs quarterfinal game against Samford in the Southern Conference Tournament. That was the first brace by a UTC player since 2019.

She ranks sixth in the SoCon for goals scored (seven) and assists (seven). Her three game winning goals ranks her fifth in the league and she is fourth with 21 points, 1.17 per game. In the NCAA, Johannsdottir is 59

th for total points. She is 83
