Soccer Edged in Defensive Battle at ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga Mocs soccer team fell 1-0 at East Tennessee State Thursday night in Southern Conference action in a defensive battle.

Chattanooga moves to 8-3 overall and 2-1 in league play while the Bucs improve to 6-1-4 on the year and 2-0-1 against the SoCon.

The Mocs were held to a season-low for shots with six led by Mackenzie Smith and Zoey Mize with two apiece including one on goal. Caroline Richvalsky was held to one shot but it was saved, keeping the Mocs off the board. Caroline Ekern made two saves on the night.

The Bucs had eight shots in the match with one finding the back of the net. Sinoxolo Cesane scored her fourth goal of the season in the 78th minute getting past the Mocs and into the upper right side of the net.

FROM THE HEAD COACH GAVIN McKINNEY
