LINCOLN, Neb. --- Chattanooga women's basketball is set to fly north for the winter, as the Mocs prep for a Power 4 contest this coming Sunday with UTC slated to take on No. 24 Nebraska up in Cornhusker territory.
The Mocs will have a tall task ahead of them on Sunday, with the Cornhuskers entering the game ranked as the No. 24 team in the nation in the latest AP Top 25 Poll. However, the last time UTC took on a Top 25 team in a regular season game over a year ago, a December 3, 2023, matchup against then-No. 21 Mississippi State, resulted in the Mocs pulling the upset card. Chattanooga will be aiming for a similar result this Sunday in Lincoln.
Tipoff against the Cornhuskers is set for 1 p.m. ET (12 p.m. CT). Fans will be able to stream the game only if they have a subscription to Big Ten Network+. For those that can't catch the stream of the game, there's always Will Poindexter's radio broadcast, which can be found either on WFLI 104.3 FM or on The Varsity app.

ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (4-7, 0-0 SoCon)
The Mocs are currently riding a four-game losing streak with the team's most recent loss coming in heartbreaking fashion after giving up a game-winning buzzer beater to Bellarmine this past Thursday. Now 4-7 on the year, the Mocs have their sights set not only on returning to the win column, but also on an upset this coming Sunday with UTC looking to secure a ranked regular season win in back-to-back seasons (UTC defeated then-No. 21 Mississippi State last December). The Mocs have been banged up over the course of non-conference play, but some consistencies for the team have been Sigrun Olafsdottir, who currently ranks second in the entire NCAA when it comes to minutes/game (37.8) this season, as well as true freshman Gianna Corbitt, who is coming off recording her first career double-double this past Thursday with a 16-point, 10-rebound game at Bellarmine. It has yet to be determined if UTC's second-leading scorer, Caia Elisaldez, will be returning to the Chattanooga lineup after missing the Mocs' most recent game due to injury.
ABOUT NEBRASKA (9-1, 1-0 Big Ten)
The Cornhuskers enter their matchup with the Mocs ranked as the No. 24 team in the nation and for very good reason as Nebraska has only lost one of their opening 10 games to the 2024-25 season. After starting the season 5-0, Nebraska saw its first loss of the year come to in-state rival Creighton the week before Thanksgiving. Since that blemish on their resume, the Cornhuskers have been near-perfect, string together four-straight wins including a dominant 84-65 victory over Minnesota in the team's Big Ten opener. A truly well-oiled machine, Nebraska ranks in the Top 100 of the NCAA in numerous stat categories with the most notable being the Cornhuskers' .407 team three-point percentage, which ranks fifth in the country. Nebraska has a three-headed monster on offense that UTC will need to lock down on Sunday, as Natalie Potts (14.4 points/game), Alexis Markowski (14.2 points/game) and Britt Prince (13.9 points/game) are each averaging double-digits to open the year.
THE LAST TIME THEY MET
The most recent meeting between these two teams came back during the 2013 NCAA Tournament, when the No. 11 seeded Mocs clashed with the No. 6 seeded Cornhuskers in the tournament's opening round in a neutral site contest in College Station, Texas. That game resulted in a 73-59 Nebraska victory, which leveled the all-time series at 1-1. Sunday's game marks the first time in the series' history that these two teams will have played in Lincoln.
