CHATTANOOGA---The 8th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs open the season Saturday at No. 15 Tennessee in Neyland Stadium. The long-awaited season opener sees year six of the Rusty Wright kick off with an unprecedented run of success.

Wright is the first Mocs ball coach to post a .500 or better record in each of his first five seasons at the helm. He's the fastest to reach the 30-win mark and is ready for his sixth debut.

"Everybody's excited this time of year," Wright began after Saturday's practice. "I'm excited to go find out what this group's about. This is a huge challenge in front of us, but you know, we're excited to see to find out about our football team and what better way to do it than in an SEC environment?"

The Mocs return seven starters on both sides of the ball.
The week ahead includes tonight's Chat with the Mocs Radio Show. The weekly event is a 1-hour broadcast on the radio flagship, WFLI. That's 96.1 and 100.3 on the FM dial as well as the iconic 1070 AM. Fans can also listen here on GoMocs.com.

"Voice of the Mocs" Jim Reynolds serves as host talking with Coach Rusty Wright and selected student-athletes each week. Tonight's episode is taking place at an on-campus event before returning to Miller's Ale House for the remainder of 2024-25.

Tuesday is the weekly football press conference with the local media contingent. Wednesday, we serve the weekly game preview, while Thursdays are reserved for something special on road weeks and specific game day info for the home games. Friday's final look at game week tries to tie a neat bow around this week of information and provides a simple platform for following the Mocs on Saturday.
