Soccer Returns Home to Host Indiana State

Luau Night!! Wear your tropical gear.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- After splitting the opening week between home and road, the Chattanooga women's soccer team returns to Finley Stadium for a pair of home matches. The Mocs host Indiana State Thursday and Morehead State on Sunday.
 
Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite tropical gear for Luau Night!

Admission to all Chattanooga Mocs home soccer matches is free. Fans must enter through the South Gate and sit in the designated section. Concessions are available.
 
MOCS VS. SYCAMORES
Thursday's game against the Sycamores will be the second meeting between the two programs. UTC is 1-0 against Indiana State.
 
LAST TIME THEY MET
Chattanooga and Indiana State met just once. That was in 2000 in Murray, Ky., at Murray State's tournament. The Mocs came away with a 3-1 victory with goals scored by Oddbjorg Haugen, Pam Malinowski and Laura O'Dowd. Haugen and Malinowski each tallied an assist while Autumn Long connected for the third goal. Rawlslyn Ray played all 90 minutes and recorded six saves in the win.
 
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (1-1)
Chattanooga opened the season with a 4-0 win over Winthrop in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Four different Mocs found the back of the net. That was followed by a 1-0 loss at Alabama. The Tide scored its lone goal early but was shutout the rest of the way by the Mocs. Caroline Ekern, the reigning SoCon Defensive Player of the Week tallied a career-best nine saves.
 
ABOUT INDIANA STATE (1-1)
The Sycamores opened the season with a 4-0 loss at Purdue but followed that with a 13-0 victory over Saint Mary-of-the-Woods in the home opener. Ten different players scored in the win with Isabella Berta leading the team with two goals and an assist. Alex Lehnert and Addyson Warner each added a pair of goals while Aslyn Cohen and Layne Frericks each notched a pair of assists.

Chattanooga remains home to take on Morehead State Sunday, August 24 at 1 p.m. at Finley Stadium.
