STARTING FIVE- Chattanooga is No. 5 in last week's CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25. Poll is released on Mondays.
- UTC is looking for its first 10-2 start since the 1993-94 season. More on the start in the "Opening Tips".
- The Mocs are lethal from 3pt range ranking 20th nationally in 3pt percentage (40.6) and 37th in triples per game (9.5). More on 3pt numbers in "Opening Tips" and highlighting "3-Rob" on page 3 of the notes package.
- Chattanooga is 7-0 when scoring 70 or more points. Check out the indicators on page 8 of the notes package.
- UTC is 7-1 when opponents score less than 70 points. Only Georgia (90 in OT), Illinois (77) and Iowa State (83) topped 70 so far. Complete schedule with a game note on page 2 of the notes package.

OPENING TIPS- UTC is looking for its first 10-2 start since the 1993-94 season. That squad opened wins over USC Aiken (97-71), at Alabama (67-57), Columbus (81-70), Alabama State (104-88), South Alabama (85-69), Southern Miss (98-95), at Furman (82-81), Marshall (92-81), VMI (82-62), Davidson (80-70) and Western Carolina (78-68) with losses at No. 5 Michigan (97-86) and No. 10 Purdue (74-66).
- Last three 10-2 or better openings? 1993-94 (11-2), 1983-84 (14-2) and 1982-83 (12-2).
- 10-2 would tie
Matt McCall for the best start to a Mocs coaching career with Ron Shumate's in 1973-74.
- Just the third meeting between the two schools. Series is even at 1-1. More series notes on page 4 of the notes package.
- UTC is 17-3 all-time against the current Big South members (Charleston Southern 1-0, Coastal Carolina 2-0, Gardner-Webb 0-1, High Point 1-0, Liberty 2-1, Longwood 2-0, Presbyterian 2-0, Radford 1-1 and UNC Asheville 6-0).
- Only scheduled meeting with a Big South school.
- Leading the SoCon in FG% (47.8), 3pt% (40.6) and blocks (5.2).

HEAD COACH MATT MCCALL- Head Coach
Matt McCall is 9-2 in his first season as a head coach. He comes to Chattanooga from Florida where he was an assistant to Billy Donovan over the last four years. He is 4-0 at home.
- First Mocs ball coach to start his tenure 3-0 since Henry Dickerson (1998-02, 72-73) in 1997-98.
- McCall is a 2004 graduate of Florida. He spent 10 seasons with Billy Donovan working as a student manager (2003-06), director of basketball ops (2006-08) and assistant coach (2011-15). He spent three seasons as an assistant to Mike Jarvis at Florida Atlantic (2008-11) culminating with a school-best 21-11 mark in 2010-11.
- McCall's staff includes a former head coach,
Reggie Witherspoon (Buffalo, 1999-2013), fellow former FAU assistant
Peter Gash and
Jesse Bopp, a former prep school head coach that most recently served as director of basketball ops for Shaka Smart at VCU. Former Gator SEC Legend
Eddie Shannon is the director of basketball ops, while
Jacob Kurtz is video coordinator after completing his playing career in 2015 at UF.
Jordan Clark returns as graduate manager.

SCOUTING RADFORDÂ - Radford is 7-5 on the year with high-major wins at Georgetown and Penn State.
- The Highlanders are 3-2 at home and on the road.
- Mike Jones is 70-75 in his fifth year as head coach. He shared the VCU bench with former Mocs headman Will Wade under Shaka Smart.
- Rashun Davis (13.7), Cameron Jones (12.6) and Ed Polite, Jr., (10.3) are the scoring leaders. Polite, Jr., is the top rebounder at 6.1 per contest.
- Radford limits opponents to 28.0 percent from the 3pt line with 5.0 made per game. UTC makes 9.3 per contest at a 40.6 percent clip.
