STARTING FIVE- UTC is looking for its first 17-3 start since opening the 1982-83 season (26-3).
- Chattanooga is 14-0 when scoring 70 or more points. UNCG held opponents under 70 in all six of its wins. Check out the indicators on page 9 of the notes package.
- The Mocs leads the SoCon standings at 5-1. Mercer and ETSU are a half-game back at 4-1, while Wofford is in fourth at 4-2. The Bears are at the Bucs Thursday, while Wofford has the night off. Complete SoCon standings are on page 8 of the notes package.
- UNCG is third in the league in defensive rebound percentage (73.1%), while the Mocs are fourth in offensive rebound percentage (31.8%).
- UTC averages 77.3 points per game overall, 71.9 per contest in their nine road outings. Home/road/neutral splits are listed on page 4 of the notes package.

Chuck Ester posted 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals per contest over last three.
- Tuoyo is coming off back-to-back 20-point efforts. In the last three wins, he has 54 points (18.0 ppg), 17 rebounds (5.7 rpg) and nine blocks (3.0 bpg). He shot 63.0 percent (17-27) from the floor and 76.9 percent (20-26) at the charity stripe over that span.

HEAD COACH MATT MCCALL- Head Coach
Matt McCall is 16-3 in his first season as a head coach. He comes to Chattanooga from Florida where he was an assistant to Billy Donovan over the last four years. He is 6-3 in away games.
- First Mocs ball coach to start his tenure 16-3 or better. Next best through 19 games? Ron Shumate started 15-4 in 1972-73.
- McCall is a 2004 graduate of Florida. He spent 10 seasons with Billy Donovan working as a student manager (2003-06), director of basketball ops (2006-08) and assistant coach (2011-15). He spent three seasons as an assistant to Mike Jarvis at Florida Atlantic (2008-11) culminating with a school-best 21-11 mark in 2010-11.
- McCall's staff includes a former head coach,
Reggie Witherspoon (Buffalo, 1999-2013), fellow former FAU assistant
Peter Gash and
Jesse Bopp, a former prep school head coach that most recently served as director of basketball ops for Shaka Smart at VCU. Former Gator SEC Legend
Eddie Shannon is the director of basketball ops, while
Jacob Kurtz is video coordinator after completing his playing career in 2015 at UF.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANSÂ Â Â Â - 6-12, 2-3 in the Southern Conference. Own league wins over Furman (67-66) and VMI (85-68). The Spartans are 6-2 at home (4-game home winning streak), 2-0 in league play.
- Head Coach Wes Miller is 51-85 in his fifth season as a collegiate head coach, all at UNCG. He is 31-41 in SoCon games. Miller has a 6-3 mark against the Mocs, 3-1 in Greensboro.
- In league games only, UNCG leads in assist/turnover ratio (1.3).
- R.J. White leads the Spartans averaging 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He is atop the conference in FG percentage shooting 63.8 percent from the floor.
- Three others average in double digits: Francis Alonso (12.3), Kayel Locke (11.1) and Diante Baldwin (10.7). Marvin Smith is one basket shy at 9.9 points per contest.
