CHATTANOOGA WATCH PARTY
Watch parties for both the men's and women's basketball NCAA Tournament games this week are at Jefferson's Restaurant, home of "Chat with the Mocs". All fans are invited. Chattanooga is one of just 24 programs in the country to have both its men's and women's programs in the NCAA Tournament. Come join the Mocs Club at 618 Georgia Avenue, across from the courthouse, in downtown Chattanooga.  Food and drink specials are available throughout each party. The men's game is St. Patrick's Day so get there early to enjoy the games.

STARTING FIVE
- School-record 29 wins eclipsing previous mark in the 1977 NCAA DII National Title (27-5) and 1982 SoCon Champs (27-4) near NCAA Sweet 16 runs.
- 3-10 (.231) all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Last dance was 2009 in Philadelphia.
- No. 12 seed is best since 1993. UTC has been seeded 9-16 in its 11 NCAA appearances.
- Since 2001, the Southern Conference has sent just four schools to the NCAA Championship: Chattanooga (2005, 2009, 2016), ETSU (2002, 2003), Davidson (2006, 2007, 2008, 2012, 2013) and Wofford (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015). UNCG in 2001 is the last time.
- 14-1 in games decided by nine points or less (7-0 when five or less).

OPENING TIPS
- There are just two matchups of regular season conference champions, and they're both in Des Moines: Chattanooga vs. Indiana and Stony Brook vs. Kentucky. The UTC/IU game is the only battle of OUTRIGHT champs.
- First SoCon school to capture the men's and women's tournament titles in the same year.
- The last time one school won or shared BOTH the SoCon men's and women's regular season crown? Chattanooga in 1992. Happened seven times now, five for the Mocs (1985, 1986, 1991, 1992 & 2016).
- 29 wins ties for second in the nation with Michigan St., Little Rock and Villanova behind Kansas (30-4).
- .853 winning percentage is third-best in school history behind 1982 (.870, 27-4) and 1983 (.866, 26-4). It's tied for third-best nationally with the Spartans and Villanova.
- Won 16 of 18, 24 of 27 and 26 of last 30.
- 42-10 (.808) in league play since start of the 2013-14 slate. That's four games ahead of Wofford (38-14) for best mark over that span.
- 20 blocks in the postseason (6.7 bpg). Lead the SoCon in blocks at 4.8 blocks per contest ranking 39th in the country.
- Also paced the league in scoring margin (+9.2) and 3pt percentage defense (32.4%).
- Limited Samford (0-14), Western Carolina (3-17) and ETSU (9-26) to just 21.1 percent (12-57) shooting from 3pt range during SoCon Tournament.
- Matt McCall's 29-5 start is the best in school history. Mack McCarthy (1985-86) and Jeff Lebo (2002-03) are second at 21-9.
