The Southern Conference Champion Chattanooga Mocs (26-5/15-3) know the start time of their SoCon Quarterfinal matchup Saturday at Noon. But the opponent...that's determined Friday night with Samford and VMI meeting in 1st round play.

- Chattanooga won its 11th regular season SoCon Championship (20 tries) since joining the league in 1977-78.
- The Mocs have 10 SoCon Tourney titles. That's tied for second with West Virginia behind Davidson (12) for most in the league's history.
- UTC is 2-0 this season on a neutral floor winning its bracket in the Emerald Coast Classic. Topped Alabama State (95-58) and Jacksonville State (62-52).
- Face the winner of Samford-VMI which are the last two teams Chattanooga faced in the regular season.
- The Mocs are one win shy of tying the school record of 27 (1977, 27-5 & 1982, 27-4).
 
OPENING TIPS
- The last time one school won or shared BOTH the men's and women's regular season titles? Chattanooga in 1992. It's happened six times, four for the Mocs (1985, 1986, 1991 & 1992).
- 26-5 is the best opening to a season since 1982-83 (26-3).
- 26 wins ranks tied for second nationally behind Little Rock's 27.
- . 839 winning percentage is tied for ninth best in the country.
- Won 13 of 15, 21 of 24 and 23 of last 27.
- Chattanooga is one of 13 DI schools with more FT made (528) than its opponents have ATTEMPTED (521). - 42-10 (.808) in league play since start of the 2013-14 slate. That's four games ahead of Wofford (38-14) for best mark over that span.

- Matt McCall's 26-5 start is the best in school history. Mack McCarthy (1985-86) and Jeff Lebo (2002-03) are second at 21-9.
- Leading the SoCon in scoring margin (+9.6) and blocks (4.6).

- Greg Pryor has already set career highs for assists (111), steals (45), FT made (110) and FT attempted (137) in a season.
- Eric Robertson is 13 threes shy of becoming third Moc with 200 in his career. Looks to join Stephen McDowell (243, 2008-09) and Keddric Mays (207, 2006-07).
- Tre' McLean's February numbers: 14.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.4 apg, 0.9 bpg, 1.7 spg, 52.1% FG, 39.1% 3pt and 80.4% FT.
- Chuck Ester had 14 games with six or more boards leading the team seven time on the glass.
- Justin Tuoyo is 30th nationally in blocks per game (2.3).
- Dee Oldham averaged 10.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game February. He shot 48.4 percent (30-62) from the field, 39.3 percent (11-28) from long range and 83.3 percent (30-36) from the free throw line.

HEAD COACH MATT MCCALL
- Head Coach Matt McCall is 26-5 in his first season as a head coach. He comes to Chattanooga from Florida where he was an assistant to Billy Donovan over the last four years. He is 2-0 on a neutral floor.
- 2016 Southern Conference Coach of the Year.
- First Mocs ball coach to start his tenure 26-5 or better. Next best? 21-9 by Mack McCarthy (1985-86) and Jeff Lebo (2002-03).
- McCall is a 2004 graduate of Florida. He spent 10 seasons with Billy Donovan working as a student manager (2003-06), director of basketball ops (2006-08) and assistant coach (2011-15). He spent three seasons as an assistant to Mike Jarvis at Florida Atlantic (2008-11) culminating with a school-best 21-11 mark in 2010-11.
- McCall's staff includes a former head coach, Reggie Witherspoon (Buffalo, 1999-2013), fellow former FAU assistant Peter Gash and Jesse Bopp, a former prep school head coach that most recently served as director of basketball ops for Shaka Smart at VCU. Former Gator SEC Legend Eddie Shannon is the director of basketball ops, while Jacob Kurtz is video coordinator after completing his playing career in 2015 at UF. Jordan Clark returns as graduate manager.
