ABOUT CHATTANOOGA (26-4, 13-1 SoCon)
The Mocs entered the 2024 Southern Conference Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed following a 2023-24 regular season that saw the Mocs finish 25-4 and 13-1 in SoCon play. Chattanooga has been an elite when it comes to shooting the ball, ranking first in the conference in field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage. UTC is also one of the nation's premier defensive squads, limiting opponents to 54.0 points/game and just a 26.5 percent three-point percentage on the year. The Mocs are led by head coach Shawn Poppie, who was named the 2024 Southern Conference Coach of the Year prior to the tournament getting underway. Players recognized by the SoCon heading into the tournament included First Team All-Conference selections Jada Guinn and Raven Thompson, as well as All-Defensive Team honoree Sigrun Olafsdottir and All-Freshman Team honoree Hannah Kohn.

ABOUT UNC GREENSBORO (21-10, 8-6 SoCon)
Entering the SoCon Tournament as the No. 2 seed, the 21-10 Spartans have been able to take down the likes of No. 7 Furman and No. 3 Wofford enroute to their first SoCon title game appearance since 2020 and seventh overall in program history. UNCG's last SoCon Tournament title came back in 1998 over Georgia Southern. Greensboro will look to rely heavily upon their size advantage at the forward and center positions, along with tapping into leading scorer Jayde Gamble, who's averaging 14.4 points/game for the Spartans. Gamble's season would finish with her earning a place on the SoCon's All-Conference First Team. The Spartans are also able to boast of having the 2024 SoCon Defensive Player of the Year on their squad, Ayanna Khalfani, who has averaged 1.3 steals/game and 1.0 steals/game this season. Khalfani also received a nod to the All-Conference Second Team for her efforts.

THE LAST TIME THEY MET
Chattanooga women's basketball suffered its first loss in 13 games in their most recent meeting with the Spartans, with the Mocs falling victim to UNC Greensboro after a late surge from the Spartans gave them a 68-64 victory. The Mocs saw themselves up by as much as 12 points on the Spartans at one point during the game, but a high-scoring fourth quarter by UNCG helped hand the Mocs their first SoCon loss of the season in the team's final home game of the year. Jada Guinn ended her day with a 26-point, eight-rebound performance for the Mocs, both team-highs. This marks her 10th game scoring 20+ points this season, as well as her fourth game with 25+ on the year. Raven Thompson also ended her day in double-digits, scoring 11. UTC leads the all-time series against the Spartans 50-14. The two squads have met 10 times in the SoCon Tournament, with the Mocs holding a 8-2 record against UNCG in the tourney.
