CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga soccer team will hit the road Sunday to take on Morehead State, beginning a three-game September road journey.

CHATTANOOGA vs. MOREHEAD STATE
Chattanooga leads the series 4-2-2 dating back to the first meeting in 1999. After winning the first three matches, the Mocs did not put a tick in the win column until the meeting last year.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The Mocs delivered a dominant performance at Finley Stadium, shutting out Morehead State 2-0 in a decisive non-conference matchup. Chattanooga wasted no time, opening the scoring in the sixth minute with a goal from junior Clarissa Salinas. Quinn Johnson took a pass from Salinas and sent it right back to her at the top inside of the box. Salinas turned on the ball, fired a shot off with her right foot into the bottom left corner for what proved to be the game winner. The Mocs continued to press throughout the first half, culminating in a second goal in the 39th minute by Paige Thomas, her fourth of the season, off a well-executed combination from Karoline Lauritsen and Caroline Richvalsky. Richvalsky fed a pass back to Lauritsen who sent a one-touch pass across to Thomas who blew past the defense to make it 2-0 lead for Chattanooga. The Mocs outshot the Eagles 19-4, including nine shots on target, and earned 10 corner kicks to Morehead State's one. Chattanooga keeper Caroline Ekern recorded her third win and second shutout of the season.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA
The Mocs have three wins a pair for a 3-1-2 overall record. UTC has outshot its opponents 98-37 with a 43-17 shots on goal advantage. Lilly Kate Varino got her first start in goal at home against Austin Peay (8/23). The Mocs came away with a 3-0 win. After a draw at Lipscomb on Aug. 27, UTC returned to Finley Stadium and picked up a 2-1 win over Eastern Kentucky. Varino is sporting a 2-0-1 unbeaten mark in her first three appearances.
OLSON TAPS IN GAME WINNER
Landry Olson picked up a pass sent across the box from Ayden Wood and snuck her shot into the net between the keeper and the post against Eastern Kentucky for her first game winner.
DUNAHAY STRIKES AGAIN
After scoring her first goal in the first 40 seconds of the second half at Lipscomb (8/27), Savannah Dunahay scored her second goal at the 1:24 mark of the game in the Mocs win over Eastern Kentucky (8/30).
