CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs remain on the road for this weekend's Southern Conference matchups. It starts Thursday at Western Carolina before shifting Saturday to ETSU.

Chattanooga is coming off a season-best 52.9 percent (27-51) shooting performance at UNCG. The squad made 50 percent or better in each of the last three games (51.4%, 90-175). Last time with four in a row? Feb. 2007 at Georgia Southern (50.0%), at Davidson (54.3%), The Citadel (50.0%) and at Western Carolina (51.9%). That squad shot 51.4 percent (95-185) over that run.

Dig a little deeper and it's clear what's fueling it. While the Mocs are continuing an impressive run of 3pt shooting making more than 10 per game (10.8) and better than 40 percent (40.4%) from beyond the arc over the past eight, it's inside it that getting better and better as the season marches on. The group is 57.3 percent (67-117) INSIDE the arc in the last three. It was 47.2 percent (202-428) over the opening 12.

The offense has been sufficient, but it on the defensive end where the Mocs have won games. When they play modestly well limiting opposing offensive, they're nearly perfect. The squad is 6-1 when holding opponents to less than 75 points, 0-7 when that number is reached.

Both contests are on the ESPN web family. The Catamounts matchup airs on ESPN3, while the Mocs move to ESPN+ on Saturday at ETSU.
