ABOUT CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs return to the Roundhouse Saturday afternoon welcoming old friend ETSU to town. The Southern Conference matchup is accentuated with a visit from the national sports performance group, the Zooperstars.
The contest is a doubleheader with the women hosting UNCG at 2 p.m. The men take center stage at 4:30 in a matchup atop the Southern Conference standings, which is nothing new in this series.
The Mocs (30) are second only to Davidson (35) in all-time league championships - regular season, division or tournament. West Virginia (19) is third, while the Bucs and North Carolina are tied for fourth with 15.
This year's editions are both battling atop the current standings. The Bucs are in third-place, a mere two games behind Wofford in first, as the youthful Mocs sit in fifth. The top six in the final standings earn a bye into the quarterfinals of the SoCon Tournament in Asheville.
The Bucs captured the first meeting in Johnson City.
Donovann Toatley tied for game-high honors with 19 points in the loss. Tray Boyd led the Bucs matching Toatley with 19 of his own off the bench.
The Zooperstars are a fan favorite. They'll perform at halftime of both the men's and women's games. Check out one of their
performances here. Whether it's Kevin Duranteater or Mackerel Jordan or LeBronco James, it's an act for all ages.
This is the second game in a three-in-four stretch at home. The squad hits the road Thursday at VMI before returning to host UNCG on Saturday, Feb. 9. The contest with the Spartans is a part of the
Mocs Reunion Weekend. Home tickets are available at the link above or by calling (423) 266-MOCS (6627).
