Randy Faires was one of the top wrestlers for the Mocs during the early part of legendary head coach Jim Morgan’s era. He won the Southeastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association’s 126-pound title in 1969, and the 134-pound trophy in 1970 and 1971.Â
Faires posted a 44-1 record in his collegiate career. His .978 winning percentage is still the bench in school history.Â
Randy was rewarded in 2011 with his induction into the Georgia Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of fame in Stillwater, Okla. His service to wrestling includes founding the Olympic Style program in Georgia and over 40 years of involvement at all levels of the sport.
